Borno Government Receives Students Evacuated From Sudan

The Borno State Government today received Borno indigenes studying in Sudan.
The students were evacuated by the Borno State Government from Khartoum to Aswan in Egypt where the Federal govt under the supervision of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs airlifted them to Abuja.
The Hon. Commissioner Ministry for Higher Education Science Technology and Innovations Engr Mustapha Mallumbe received the students alongside HRH the Shehu of Sama Umar Ibn Kyari Elkanemi.
According to the Commissioner, the Borno state government under the leadership of His Excellency Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum ordered the charter of two planes to fly the students from Abuja to Maiduguri he added that the Borno State Government is ever ready towards ensuring the safety of its people at all times.
The SSG Alh. Jidda Shuwa who represented the Governor at the Government House Maiduguri said, the Governor constituted a high-powered committee to liaise with the already established Federal Committee to ensure a safe recovery and evacuation of students from Borno. The SSG further added that it is a clear manifestation of Governor Zulum’s empathy for the safety, security, security -the beginning of the people of Borno.
The SSG sympathize with the students over the hardship and struggle they had to endure as a result of the civil unrest in Sudan.
