Nigeria says there are 4.3 million people suffering from hunger in the states of Borno, Adamawa and Yobe, a situation that has become a threat to humanitarian efforts.

The chief humanitarian coordinator in Nigeria, Matthias Shemale, disclosed this on Friday during a march by humanitarian workers in Abuja as part of the World Humanitarian Day.

He called for a review of the possibility of using military force on Niger, because according to him, going to war will increase the need for aid not only in Niger, but also in Nigeria itself because of the border they are connected to.

The aid workers said that the march is a determination to show commitment to the relief and humanitarian work in the areas affected by conflicts and floods.

Since 2016, 37 aid workers have been killed in Borno, Adamawa and Yobe states, with 24 wounded, in addition to the kidnapping of many which is a situation of worry to humanity.
