The chief officer for the collection and announcement of election results in Adamawa state has described the state governorship election held on Saturday as inconclusive.
The official said this recently at the election results center after the announcement of the results of the Fufore local government election that is being carried.
After announcing the results of the 21 local governments of the state, Ahmad Umar Fintiri of the PDP got 421,524 votes.
While his main rival from the APC, Senator Aisha Dahiru Binani got 390,275 votes.
However, the electoral officer refused to accept the results of the election brought from Fufore local government saying that there was a difference in the figures announced and the one posted on the website of the election commission.
The election in the state is one of the most interesting considering that this is the first time a woman from the north of Nigeria has run for governor in Adamawa state.
