The Organization of African Union (AU) has demanded that the soldiers who staged a coup in Niger return to their barracks and restore civilian rule in the country.

This is coming while ECOWAS is preparing to hold a meeting on Monday on the coup d’état in Niger, which has been condemned by many international countries.

Niger has joined the list of countries in the Sahel region where the military has taken control of the government

This is a great response from an international organization. In a statement issued by the Security and Peace Committee of the African Union, he condemned the coup d’état carried out by Niger’s army.

The AU also said that it has given the soldiers 15 days to return to their barracks.

The announcement is the same as that of the European Union, which has suspended financial and military aid to the country.

On his part, the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that the US will stop the millions of dollars in aid it is giving to Niger.

The country of Niger, which is in the Sahel region, has been a great asset to the West in their efforts to fight jihadists in the Sahel region of West Africa.

The president of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, plans to host a meeting of the West African leaders to discuss the coup in Niger.

On Wednesday night, the Niger army announced the overthrow of the civilian government and Mohammed Bazoum, after spending the day detaining him in his house.

On Friday, the head of the armed forces meeting at the presidential palace, General Abdourahmane Tchiani declared himself as the new head of the country’s army.
