Borno Gov’t to partner Switzerland on resettlement program

Borno state Government has reiterated commitment to continued partnership with government of Switzerland to strengthen the Reconstruction, Rehabilitation and Resettlement program.

Governor Babagana Umara Zulum stated this when he received the Switzerland ambassador to Nigeria,Chad and ECOWAS Mr Nicholas Lan on a courtesy visit at the Government house Maiduguri.

The Governor noted the successes recorded by the Borno state government in the areas of reconstruction, rehabilitation and resettlement, working along UNDP and other donor partners and expressed need need to sustain the gains made, especially the massive surrender by the insurgents, so that they don not return to terrorism.

Ambassador of Switzerland,Nicolas who congratulated Governor Babagana Umara Zulum on his re-election said he was in Borno to compare notes on areas Switzerland government would support the state in the peace building process.

Nicolas Lan was accredited in January this year as Switzerland’s ambassador to Nigeria Chad and ECOWAS.
