Breaking: FG shuts down varsities for weeks

The Nigerian University Commission has directed all universities across the nation to be shut down.
Chris J. Maiyaki, the deputy executive secretary announced this in a statement on Thursday.
According to him, the directive gives a view of the concern expressed used on the security of staff, students and properties of the institutions in the forthcoming election.
The general elections which is scheduled to take February 25 for president and the national assembly and on March 11 for gubernatorial and state assembly, respectively.
Given the view of this, Adamu Adamu, the minister after consultations with relevant security agencies directed all universities, centres and inter-university centres to be shut down and academic activities to be suspended between February 22 to March 14.
