In the Republic of Niger, consumer rights groups have called on citizens to refrain from using their cell phones throughout Monday.

The USN Niger student group also issued a statement supporting this decision.

And this comes after increasing the cost of buying phone cards by some of the country’s telecommunication companies, without consulting the organizations to protect the rights of consumers.

They accused the telecommunication companies of charging more than 100 percent of the mobile phone charges.

In his interview with the BBC, Malam Abdou Dan Neito, who is the head of the CODDAE human rights group, and the representative of the RASCOONI group that protects the rights of consumers in Niger, said that they must take this step.

“We want to spend a day cur, without the use of cell phones or the internet, this is the way to show them our displeasure for what they are doing and not paying for it.” If we put a phone or internet card, the money is not stable like we used to do before. That is a disease and deception, we would not trust that.”

Some people think that cell phones and the internet are among the things that people use on a daily basis, and it is difficult for people to spend a day without using a cell phone.
