The Nigeria Police says a criminal group in Northeast Adamawa State, ‘Shila boys’, has killed a 37-year-old man, Umar Abdulkadir.
The Public Relations Officer, Police Command in Adamawa state, SP Suleiman Nguroje

“They specialise in snatching mobile phones, jewellery and other valuables,” Suleiman Nguroje said.
Nguroje said that the incident happened in the early hours of Saturday when the youths attempted to snatch Abdulkadir’s mobile phones on Ajiya Street in Yola-North Local Government Area.
The police spokesman said an investigation into the killing had begun to enable the arrest of the perpetrators of the deadly act.
A brother of the deceased,
Sergeant Muhammad Abdulkadir, said that the gang members about seven, stormed the deceased’s house at 2 am with knives and other dangerous weapons.
Abdulkadir said that his brother did his best to escape but was not successful, as the hoodlums stabbed him in the stomach, exposing his intestines.
According to him, the gang took his late brother’s two phones and ran away, adding that his brother was rushed to Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital, Yola, where he died.
