Diaspora Commission locates missing former ASUU President Found

Former President of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, Professor Dipo Fasina, has been found.
The Nigerian Diaspora Commission made the disclosure through a statement posted on its twitter handle on Sunday afternoon.
Reports earlier said that the former ASUU President, Professor Fasina, popularly called Jingo, was missing since July 1 while on his way to Algeria.
In the terse statement, the Nigerian Diaspora Commission stated, “He has been found.
The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, in collaboration with the Nigerian High Commission in Turkey, had successfully located Professor Fasina, who went missing for a few days at Istanbul Airport while connecting on a flight back home.
76 years old Professor Fasina was traveling to Algeria when he was said to have missed his connecting flight from Istanbul, Turkey.
The Nigerian Diaspora Commission did not however give details of Fasina’s circumstances and what make him to become incommunicado.
Professor Fasina had taught Philosophy at one of Nigerian universities, the Obafemi Awolowo University Ile Ife.
He is also a human and Labour rights activist.
Professor Fasina’s tenure as president of ASUU experienced confrontation with government over the welfare and funding of universities.
He was to set up the Philosophy Department of the Olabisi Onabanjo University Ago Iwoye in Ogun state, Southwest Nigeria.
