Former Super Eagles captain, rapper become advisers

Plateau state Government, Northeast Nigeria has former Super Eagles captain, John Mikel Obi, and rapper Jude Abaga also known as MI as honorary advisers.
State governor, Caleb Muftwang appointed John Mikel Obi, as Honorary Adviser on Sports while MI is the new Honorary Adviser on Entertainment and Creativity.
Governor Muftwang said the appointments are parts of plan to install excellence for Plateau state.
Former Super Eagles captain, John Mikel grew up in Jos, the Plateau state capital.
He made a mark in football having won laurels for Nigeria and Chelsea.
Mikel scored only one goal and contributed ten assists in the English Premier League in 249 appearances for Chelsea and left the club in January 2017.
Mikel is Nigeria’s most decorated player with the most trophies in England after making 372 appearances in all competitions for the Blues and winning two Premier League titles, three FA Cups, the Champions League and Europa League amongst his extensive silverware collection.
Similarly, Governor Muftwang approved the appointment of Professor Christopher Yilwan as the Chief Medical Director of the Plateau Specialist Hospital and Dr Agabus Manasseh as the Director General, Plateau State Contributory Health Care Management Agency.
Mathew Dawap was appointed as General Manager, Plateau Mineral Development Company Limited while Helen Dabup, was made Executive Secretary, Local Government Service Pension Board by the governor.
Other appointees by the governor included Ishaku Jilemsam, Programme Manager, Plateau Agricultural Development Programme; Samuel Gwott, General Manager Plateau Express Service; Hart Bankat, General Manager, Jos Metropolitan Development Board; and Olivia Dazyem, Special Adviser on Gender and Chairperson Implementation Committee of Gender and Equal Opportunities Commission.
He also approved the appointments for Chairman, Teacher’s Service Commission; Hon Alex Chup,
Acting Executive Chairman, State Universal Basic Education (SUBEB); Hon Sunday Amuna and Honorary Adviser on Healthcare and members of Abuja Liaison Directorate; Professor Ishaya Pam, among others.
