Gov. Buni Reviews ‘Keke’ Riders Operating Hours

His Excellency Governor Mai Mala Buni CON, has approved for the extension of commercial activities of Tricycle operators known as ‘Keke Napep from 6:00pm to 8:pm across the 17 Local Government Areas of the state.

This was contained in a letter signed by Brigadier General Dahiru Abdulsalam (rtd), the Special Adviser on security affairs to the Governor.

According to the statement “The Yobe State Government undertook a review of the security situation across the 17 Local Government Areas of the State. The Government noted the noticeable improvement in security situation across the entire state. Sequel to which, the Government observed with concern the hardship being experienced by commuters due to the current 6:00 PM time limit for the operation of commercial tricycle (KEKE NAPEP)”..

“Consequently, the Executive Governor of Yobe State, His Excellency, Hon. Mai Mala Buni CON, COMN, has approved an upward review of the operating hours for the commercial tricycle (KEKE NAPEP) riders.

This approval was granted cognisant of the improvement in security situation and the need to ease the difficulties being experienced by commuters in the state”.

“Accordingly, I am directed to convey that the operating hours for commercial tricycle riders is now reviewed from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM daily with effect from Friday, 3rd March 2023.

In view of this development, the Executive Governor of Yobe State enjoins all security agencies in the State to ensure compliance with this directive.

Similarly, the leadership of the National Commercial Tricycle and Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association (NACTOMORAS), Yobe State Chapter is requested to be cautious and give its maximum cooperation towards the implementation and compliance with this directive.
