Governor Inuwa Allocates N556m Grants to GO-CARES Beneficiaries

Governor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has allocated a sum of N556 million to the Gombe State Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA) for the disbursement of grants to the second group of beneficiaries under the Gombe State COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (GO-CARES) program.
Malam Haruna Ahmed Imam the general manager of CSDA made this announcement during the inauguration of a block of classrooms and office spaces constructed by the Palta Women Group at Walin Kwami Primary School in Palta Kwami local government area of the state.
Imam further informed that the CSDA has made significant progress in implementing the second phase of the GO-CARES program. As part of this phase the agency has constructed a total of 17 blocks of classrooms provided furniture and built 15 primary healthcare centers in various communities across the state.
Additionally the CSDA has undertaken the construction of 30 toilets installed 23 boreholes and set up one earth rain water harvester to enhance water supply and sanitation in the affected areas.
The funds released by Governor Yahaya will be used to support the second batch of beneficiaries providing them with financial assistance and resources to aid in their recovery from the socio-economic consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The GO-CARES program is an initiative by the Gombe State Government aimed at mitigating the impact of the pandemic and fostering economic recovery in the state. Through the program the government is prioritizing the development of critical infrastructure and providing support to vulnerable individuals and communities.
He added that the agency has also provided nutritional complementary foods to 4,000 beneficiaries and appreciated the state governor for the prompt release of funds and commitment towards the GO-CARES programme.
The general manager congratulated the Palta community for benefiting from the project and advised them to take ownership of the project through proper maintenance.
The district head of Kwami, Musa Abdu thanked Governor Yahaya for providing dividends of democracy to the people especially through the GO-CARES project which he said is touching the lives of the poor and vulnerable.
