JUST IN: Gombe Islamic Cleric Killed by Armed Robbers

Armed robbers took the life of Sheikh Ibrahim Musa Albani Kuri, an Islamic cleric in Gombe State.

Kanempress noted that on the early hours of Wednesday the assailants targeted the cleric’s residence in Tabra community, attempting to rob him, while leading to a confrontation in which the robbers, armed with knives and cutlasses, fatally wounded him.

The Gombe State Police Command’s spokesperson, Mahid Muazu Abubakar, confirmed that the masked robbers demanded money from Sheikh Ibrahim but resorted to violence when he refused.

Also, the Commissioner of Police, CP Oqua Etim, has ordered a thorough investigation into the incident.

Meanwhile, the Governor of Gombe State, Inuwa Yahaya, expressed shock over the incident, acknowledging that the sense of security and peace in the state has been deeply affected.

He condemned the heinous act and assured the people of the government’s commitment to their safety.

Governor Yahaya emphasized the need for continued efforts to ensure security across the state, vowing to bring the criminals responsible to justice.

He, however, highlighted the lasting impact of Sheikh Ibrahim Albani Kuri’s teachings and guidance on the Muslim community and called for unity in creating a peaceful society.
