Mai Kanuribe of Lagos holds special prayers for peace and prosperity of Borno, Yobe, Lagos and Nigeria

Today, 16th April 2022 (25 Ramadan 1444 Hijri) the palace of Mai Kanuribe of Lagos and pioneer Chairman, Forum of Mai Kanuribe in Nigeria – Alhaji Mai Mele Abatcha, witnessed an unusually large gathering of Islamic Clerics, Alfas and Ulamahs at a special Ramadan duʿāʾ and dhikrs held at his palace in Sango Street, Ijora Badia.
The special supplication session which has come to be Mai Kanuribe’s annual obligation during Ramadan was also reinforced by his patriotic zeal and concern for the continuous restoration of peace and rapid development, the cardinal feature of the payer was fervent intercession for Divine restoration of peace and progress in the North-East and Nigeria as whole.
As a patriot and pan-Nigeria leader, Mai Kanuribe specifically enjoined special supplications and intercession for a hitch-free handing- over and swearing-in ceremony of the President-elect, His Excellency Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his Vice – Senator Kashim Shettima asking Almighty Allah to grant the duo guidance, protection and wisdom in piloting the affairs of over 200 millions Nigerians.
Other prominent persons and leaders for which the prayers were offered included President Mohammadu Buhari and his cabinet; Borno State governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum and his cabinet; Governor Babajide Sanwoolu of Lagos State and his cabinet; as well Yobe State Governor, Alhaji Mai Mala Buni and his cabinet.
To give further spiritual impetus to the prayer session, recitations of the Holy Qur’an and Hadiths held at intervals.
The Ulamas also made a special prayers for His Eminence, the Shehu of Borno and the Emirate Council; Oba of Lagos Dr Rilwan Akiolu; Oba of Ijora Dr Abdulfatai Aromire and his Council.
In attendance in large numbers were Borno indigenes resident in Lagos and other persons from North-Eastern states living in Lagos and diaspora.
A big cow was slaughtered and distributed to all present at the event as Ramadan gift and cash to all the 105 Ulamas for the recitation of the Qur’an.
Other highlights of the day was presentation of award of recognition to Ambassador Mai Mele Abatcha as a peace builder.
