Meet acting EFCC boss, Abdulkarim Chukkol

Mr Abdulkarim Chukkol has become the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) after the suspension of former chairman Abdulrasheed Bawa by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday, June 14, 2023.
His appointment came in the wake of the suspension of ex-Chairman Abdulrasheed Bawa by President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday.
Chukkol, a pioneer staff member and a member of the EFCC Cadet Course One, is an experienced investigator with a speciality in cybercrime and money laundering.
Chukkol, a trained investigator and detective, earned a degree from the University of Maiduguri, Borno State, in 2000. In 2006, he took a Criminal Justice education course at the Canadian Police College, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
His former place of assignment include the head, the Port Harcourt’s zonal office of the EFCC before he was transferred back to the headquarters in Abuja.
Until his elevation, Chukkol was the anti-graft agency’s director of operations.
