Ministerial Nominee Musawa Bursts Into Tears While Narrating Her Poor Family Background

Hannatu Musawa, a ministerial nominee from Katsina State, lost control of her emotions, bursting into tears when she appeared before the Senate during her screening on Tuesday.

Musawa is one of the first batch of the 28 nominees President Bola Tinubu has sent to Senate for confirmation and screening.

Talking about her family and upbringing when the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, requested that she identify herself and give a brief overview of her credentials. However, at one point, she revealed her emotions and started crying.

Ms. Musawa revealed that despite coming from a low-income family that was trying to make ends meet, her politician father, late Musa Musawa, made sure she had the Western education she wanted.

Before he passed away, her father reportedly exchanged Kolanut for money to sponsor her studies.
