Niger army appoint new Prime Minister

The leader of the army that made a coup in Niger, General Abdourahmane Tchiani announced the country’s former finance minister as the new prime minister.
Ali Mahaman Lamine Zeine replaced Mahamadou Ouhoumoudou who was in Europe when the coup took place.
Mr. Zeine held the position of Minister of Finance from 2001 until the overthrow of the government of former President Mamadou Tandja in 2010.
He once worked at the African Development Bank, in Chad, Ivory Coast and Gabon, and he is the owner of the media company ActuNiger.
