The Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy in Nigeria is working alongside Big Win Philanthropy to enhance inter-ministerial coordination and promote data-driven governance. This collaboration has led to the creation of the D30 Data Platform and mapping tools, designed to support data-informed initiatives and achieve measurable results.

At a recent inter-ministerial roundtable that included stakeholders from the Ministries of Education, Youth Development, and Big Win Philanthropy, the alignment of efforts paved the way for stronger collaboration. The discussions emphasized the importance of integrating various sectors to foster the growth of Nigeria’s creative economy.

Hannatu Musawa, the Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy, reaffirmed her commitment to transforming the sector through an 8-point agenda and 14 key initiatives. She highlighted the critical role of inter-ministerial cooperation, with the Ministers of Education and Youth Development presenting programs focused on STEM education, skill mapping, and youth empowerment to strengthen Nigeria’s creative workforce.

Prior to the roundtable, Vice President Kashim Shettima met with Jamie Cooper, President of Big Win Philanthropy, to discuss the ministry’s progress and potential partnership opportunities. This meeting underscored the government’s commitment to fostering the growth of Nigeria’s creative sector through strategic collaborations.

Looking ahead, the Ministry will convene another key stakeholder roundtable in May 2025 to present its national mapping initiative and further engage with stakeholders to drive innovation, economic growth, and development within the creative economy. This effort is poised to position Nigeria as a leader in creative industries, empowered by data and cross-sector collaboration.
