The government of Borno state has shed more light on the protest of Boko Haram converts in a resettlement camp.

According to reports, the Boko Haram converts were angry, and they went out of the camp and took to the streets to protest to show their displeasure over what they called the failure of the authorities to fulfill the promises made to them, after they embraced the peace, safe and sound.

Tens of thousands of Boko Haram fighters and their families have laid down their arms and surrendered to the Nigerian authorities recently.

The Borno state government said that while the dust had settled, the government officials later continued the work of recording the information of the Boko Haram converts on the computer.

A statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Internal Security Affairs, Professor Usman A. Tar, said that a total of 6,900 Boko Haram rebels have been identified under a joint program of disarming, disarmament, decommissioning and resettlement. Reconciliation and return them to society.

Witnesses said that the military was deployed, who stopped the protesters from spreading into the city.

A witness from Maiduguri who went to the place where the Boko Haram defectors protested in front of their camp outside the capital, told Kanempress that the ex-combatants came out in large numbers, where they were shouting and shouting while they were speaking. their complaints.

He mentioned that they did not go out to protest to destroy anyone’s property, but they spoke loudly so that their cries reached the ears of the authorities.

The statement said that there was a lack of communication about the group that was supposed to appear to collect their information on a day set in the future, but they came on Friday.

The incident which, according to the Borno government, has caused chaos in the camp where the work is being done.

The Borno state government has said that the operation of recording the information of the Boko Haram converts has been planned in a computer, in six groups which is a team of intelligence officers and experts in the field of information technology who have a lot of experience and privacy in the process of collecting information.

However, she said that eventually the authorities managed to control the situation.
