Opposition politician killed in DR Congo

Leading member of the opposition, Chérubin Okende
in the Democratic Republic of Congo is dead.
The body of Okende, riddled with gun shot bullets, was seen in his car in the capital, Kinshasa.
According to government spokesman expressed shock over Okende ‘s assassination.
Mr Okende was the government’s transport minister before his resignation in December 2022 to join the opposition party, Ensemble pour la République of Moïse Katumbi.
He emerged as the party’s spokesman.
Tensions are high ahead of elections at the end of 2023.
