Passengers stranded as aviation workers’ strike lingers

The commencement of the Nigerian Aviation worker’s two-day warning strike which started with a protest on Monday has continued to Tuesday leaving passengers stranded.

The Nigerian civil aviation authority (NCAA) has promised that soon air passengers who purchased tickets earlier before the strike would start getting 100% instant refunds after flight cancellation once the new regulation in the pipeline is signed into law.

The new regulation which will be signed was that if the flight is cancelled, airlines should put the passengers on another flight or give them the option of getting refunds immediately.

He added that a great loss running into billions had been incurred during the strike due to the cancellation of flights.

Nuhu has assured that efforts are on to resolve the ongoing strike by the workers nationwide and has appealed to the union to give the federal government opportunity to resolve the crisis.
