Popular Kannywood Actor Karkuzu Seeks Help Over Ailment

A revered figure in Kannywood, Abdullahi Shuaibu, renowned as Karkuzu, has unfortunately lost his sight and has been grappling with an ailment.
The veteran actor, whose video circulated on social media, has reached out for financial support, revealing his battle with illness since December 2020.
Karkuzu, known for his iconic drama ‘Karkuzu na Bodara’ which earned him the moniker Karkuzu, entered the Hausa entertainment scene during the 1980s.
In a video that went round Karkuzu lamented, ‘I am currently blind as I converse with you. My need for financial aid is dire. Nourishing my family has become a challenge, and the very roof over my head is up for sale. If my home is sold, I’m uncertain of where to turn.’
Regarding his vision loss, he disclosed, “I’ve undergone surgery twice, yet the doctors have concluded that it’s glaucoma, and my sight will not be restored. I’ve embraced this as my destiny. Nonetheless, I implore kind-hearted Nigerians to extend their assistance. Procuring this residence I reside in, along with sustenance, would be immensely appreciated.”
The Kannywood industry boasts numerous associations and guilds, yet there are allegations that several actors are forsaken when they fall ill and require aid.
