War crimes committed by both sides in Sudan – Amnesty

The rights group, Amnesty International says the opposing sides in Sudan conflict must quit committing war crimes.

According to Amnesty International large numbers of civilians are dying due to intentioal and indiscriminate attacks.

The rights group spoke to dozens of people, those who had escaped the Darfur region to camps in Chad.

According to it, women and girls, some as young as 12, are subjected to sexual violence, rape among others.

Amnesty discovered that the perpetrators in most cases were fighters from the Rapid Support Forces and allied Arab militias.

UN agencies and NGOs have issued warnings that the number of people in Sudan experience food shortage, which is expected to rise over 20 million, of over 40% of the population.
