Yobe Spends 9 Billion On Agricultural Projects, Programs

The Yobe State Government under the administration of Governor Mai Mala Buni CON, COMN (Chiroman Gujba), has spend over 9 billion on agricultural projects and programs from 2019 to 2022 to boost productivity and food security in the state.

The Honourable Commissioner Ministry of Agriculture, Dr. Mairo Ahmad Amshi disclosed this at the handing over ceremony of Administrative Block and 20 Hectres of Land to National Animal Production Research Instituted (NAPRI) donated by the Yobe state government.

Dr. Amshi said the Buni administration attaches great importance to the agricultural sector in view of its potentials as a major source of employment and income generation in the state.

She said “in order to help sustain farmers through increased food production and enhanced standard of living, the Buni administration deliverately tailored its agricultural policies towards accelerated food production through the provision of basic inputs and agricultural implements, particularly tractors, animal traction, fertilizer, chemicals, seedlings and even threshers.

Dr. Mairo Amshi assured that the Ministry of Agriculture will continue to achor the policy thrust of the government in the agricultural sector, as agriculture remains the major preoccupation of the people, the Buni administration would therefore continue to give the sector the priority attention it deserves, and to be in tune with the Federal Government’s policy on agriculture as one of the most important sectors of our national economy.
