An advance team from Yobe State has arrived in Morocco ahead of the upcoming discussions on educational, agricultural, and local government investment partnerships.

In a statement issued to Kanempress, Mamman Mohammed, Director General of Press and Media Affairs to the Governor, announced that His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Yobe State, Hon. Mai Mala Buni (CON, COMN), who is leading the state delegation, is expected to arrive in Morocco shortly.

The partnership aims to explore investment opportunities in various sectors within the state, focusing on employment generation and wealth creation.

Agriculture, a priority for the Buni administration, is at the forefront of the state’s economic recovery efforts, particularly for returning communities. Last year, the Yobe State government launched a substantial agricultural empowerment program, providing over 100 tractors, hand tillers, harvesters, sprayers, fertilizers, and other farming implements.

Additionally, the state government has declared an emergency in the education sector, prioritizing significant improvements and resources.

The collaboration between Yobe State and the Moroccan government is expected to enhance entrepreneurial education in schools across the state.

The advance team, led by the Secretary to the State Government, Baba Malam Wali, includes the Commissioner of Agriculture, Hon. Mustapha Ali Goniri; Commissioner of Higher Education, Prof. Bello Kawuwa; Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ibrahim Adamu Jajere; Chairman of Damaturu Local Government, Hon. Bukar Adamu; Dr. Salim Umar Muhammad; and Mamman Mohammed.
