Yobe State Provide Assistance to 80,000 Households Amid Fuel Subsidy Removal

The Yobe State government has commence the distribution of essential food items and other palliatives to more than 80,000 households which consist of over 400,000 individuals residing across the 17 local government areas of the state.
During the inauguration of the committee responsible for the distribution of these palliatives, Governor Mai Mala Buni emphasized the need for this intervention to mitigate the impact of the recent removal of petrol subsidy in the country.
Governor Buni who was represented by his deputy Idi Barde Gubana explained that, the distribution would cover a wide range of communities encompassing over 14,000 in total.
The allocation of these palliatives will be facilitated through collaboration with various stakeholders including religious leaders traditional leaders and civil society organizations (CSOs).
Furthermore the planned distribution will prioritize vulnerable groups such as individuals with disabilities civil servants students the elderly and women-headed households within the state.
This initiative seeks to alleviate the economic challenges faced by these groups due to the removal of petrol subsidy.
By implementing this distribution strategy, the Yobe State government aims to provide much-needed relief and support to its residents ensuring that they can access basic food items and essential supplies during these difficult times.
