Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum has allocated an additional one billion naira to expedite the reconstruction efforts at the Maiduguri Monday Market which was devastated by a fire in February this year.
During a recent inspection visit to assess the progress of the rebuilding process Zulum announced the latest funding injection and set a target of September 2023 for the market’s reopening.
The closure of the market has lasted for five months to facilitate the extensive reconstruction work.
