About Kanempress Digital Hub (KPDH)
KanemPress Digital Hub ( KPDH), focuses majorly on news in and around Kanem-Borno region and of course Africa and global current affairs. KPDH, is now expanded to be a voluntary, non-profit, media related NGO founded in 2019 but formally incorporated with the Federal Republic of Nigeria, in 2022.
It also focuses on media independence, facts-check, peace-building, health, education, justice, Security and equity to improve on the living conditions of the vulnerable women, youth and children, promotion of welfare activities aimed at the alleviation of human suffering and overall amelioration of society especially for the poor, helpless and the weak.
In addition, KPDH collaborates with other organizations to promote media literacy and research capabilities since people need information as much as food, water, medicine or even shelter. It engages, as well, in capacity building, training, research and discussions on economic and social issues including human rights, good governance, campaigning for pro-poor global and national policies that can accelerate broad-based economic growth, poverty reduction and public accountability.
KPDH leverages partnership with other organizations to facilitate digital skills training, where our participants would be introduced to basic web design, graphic design, free Google course and certification in fundamentals of digital marketing among others.
Kanem-Borno region, besides its over a millennial existence, its vast territory extends across about seven African countries of Nigeria, Cameroun, Chad, Central Africa, Libya, Niger and Sudan. However, it is no longer news that the region is under-reported and unreported which has created a big information vacuum. Kanempress aims to bridge this gap.
Consequently, this on-line platform will consistently provide insights about the region’s socio-historical and cultural traditions and heritage as well as economic viabilities.
Furthermore, it will also shed light on the contributions of scholars and scholarships from the region it will equally amplify stories of the unheard potentialities and other beauties of the region from an indigenous perspective.
