17th Mar, 2025
As part of efforts to support vulnerable families during the holy month of Ramadan, an Adamawa lawmaker has distributed food items across several communities in the state.
The initiative, led by Hon. Abdullahi Umar, aims to provide relief to struggling households amid rising food prices. Beneficiaries, including widows, the elderly, and low-income earners, received essential items such as rice, beans, millet, and cooking oil.
Speaking during the distribution, Hon. Umar emphasized the importance of giving back during Ramadan, stressing that the gesture was meant to ease the burden on those in need.
“Ramadan is a time of reflection, sacrifice, and generosity. It is our duty to assist the less privileged and ensure they can also observe the fast with ease,” he said.
Community members expressed gratitude for the lawmaker’s intervention, calling it a timely relief.
With economic hardships affecting many Nigerians, the move highlights the growing role of public officials in providing social support beyond legislative duties.
