Lagbaja: Inspector General of Nigeria Police Force orders personnel to wear black bands for a week to mourn Chief of Army staff

The Nigeria Police Force Inspector-General, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has ordered officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force to wear black bands for a week to mourn the late Chief of Army Staff, Leutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja.
Kanempress recalled that the presidency had on Wednesday confirmed Lagbaja dead after battling undisclosed ailment.
President Bola Tinubu subsequently directed that National Flags be flown at half mast throughout Nigeria for seven days in honour of the late Chief of Army staff.
The Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi said the Inspector General said all police officers would be wearing black bands for the seven days mourning period.
“This directive is to pay tribute and honour the late General who has shown gallantry, dedication, and passion for fighting violent crimes and insurgency in Nigeria.
“He was a great leader who deserves to be honoured by all means. May the soul of the late COAS rest in peace”, the Nigeria Police Force conluded.
