NAF airstrikes neutralise scores of terrorists in Katsina – Army

The Air Component of Operation Hadarin Daji and the 17 Brigade of the Nigerian Army on 30 January 2024, have annihilated scores of terrorists.
Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, on Sunday, said the air strikes also caused the destruction of enclaves located on Tora Hills in Safana Local Government Area (LGA) of Katsina State.
Air Vice Marshal Gabkwet said the location was first struck by the Nigerian Air Force, NAF, aircraft, after the ground troops successfully mopped up fleeing terrorists.
He said that footage from the Battle Damage Assessment as well as feedback received from other sources, showed that the air strikes had degraded the terrorists, and paved way for clearance operation by troops of the 17 Brigade of the Nigerian Army.
Gabkwet noted that the joint operation not only neutralised several terrorists and the destruction of their hideouts on the hills.
The troops ascended the Tsora Hill, which had hitherto served as a hiding place for terrorists in Safana LGA.
