Nigerian President Returns To Katsina State From Qatar

Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari is back to Nigeria after his four-day trip to Doha, for the 5th United Nations Conference on Least Developed Countries, LCDs.

President Buhari landed at the Umaru Yar’adua International Airport in Katsina State and proceeded straight to his home town Daura, via helicopter on Wednesday.

On arrival in Katsina, at 4.50 pm, President Buhari was received at the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua International Airport by State Governor Aminu Bello Masari and other cabinet members, as he proceeded to his hometown, Daura, by chopper.

The Emir of Daura, Faruk Umar Faruk and the Emirate Council were also at the helipad to welcome President Buhari in Daura.

The President was expected to remain in Daura until after the Governorship and state Houses of Assembly elections.

At the UN conference in Doha, President Buhari participated alongside the UN Secretary-General, António Guterres and other world leaders to mobilize political will, solidarity and actions to transform Least Developed Countries by finding sustainable solutions to the challenges of poverty, food insecurity, hunger, weak infrastructure, poor health facilities and climate change among other problems.

President Buhari used the trip to enhance closer relations with other foreign leaders and promote the Nigeria’s engagements at regional and global level.

While in Qatar, President Buhari met with Nigerian professionals.
