A police spokesman says the group is assisting with investigations.
Earlier two were arrested.
According to the police investigations are ongoing into the violence which caused the death of Tinashe Chitsunge.
Official details remain sketchy, as Citizens Coalition for Change eye witnesses say they were heading to a pre-booked venue for a rally in Glen Norah.
According to them it was supporters of the governing Zanu-PF party who had camped at the rally grounds who then chased them away, ripped up their campaign posters and stoned them.
The Citizens Coalition for Change eyewitnesses say Mr Chitsunge was hit and fell to the ground.
He then may have been run over by a CCC-affiliated vehicle which was fleeing the violence.
Videos on social media showed members of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) and vehicles fleeing the scene while a group of people hurled stones.
Reports say Zimbabwe is facing levels of violence as well as rights violations ahead general elections on August 26.
