In a grand ceremony that underscored exceptional achievement and leadership, the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano, bestowed an award of excellence upon Chief Security Advisor to the Bauchi State Government, Dr. Ahmad AbdurRahman, AIG (Rtd), psc(+), PhD, FICPDS, FICMC, FCAI, Fnasa, mni, Garkuwan Matasan Arewa, Wakilin Dokar Hausa. This distinguished honour recognizes his outstanding contributions in administration, operations, capacity building, and human development.
The award, presented by the academy staff comprising both academic and non-academic members under the leadership of Ibrahim Ahmad, celebrated Dr. AbdurRahman’s humanitarian services and exemplary leadership during his tenure as Commandant of the academy. His career has been marked by significant roles, including positions within the United Nations, Nigeria Police, and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), where he served as Deputy Director of Operations and Commissioner of Police at various commands.
Prominent personalities, such as the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Security Matters, Sani Mohammed, and Dr. Adamu Ambi Majidadin Bauchi, graced the event, underscoring the widespread admiration for Dr. AbdurRahman’s achievements.
During his acceptance speech, Dr. AbdurRahman expressed his profound gratitude to the academy staff and dedicated the award to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, Governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad, and the First Lady of Bauchi State, Hajiya Aisha Muhammad. He commended the Governor for his exceptional leadership and for deeming him worthy to serve as the Chief Security Advisor. Dr. AbdurRahman reaffirmed his commitment to advancing human development wherever his duties take him.
He urged the academy staff to uphold the highest moral standards and best practices in their roles, emphasizing the importance of their responsibilities in mentoring and shaping the future leaders of the nation. Dr. AbdurRahman also called upon them to fear Allah in their endeavors and to utilize their positions to benefit humanity.
Addressing the beneficiaries of his appointment from various states, Dr. AbdurRahman conveyed a special message: the people of Bauchi State are thoroughly satisfied with Governor Bala Muhammad’s exemplary governance. He urged them to spread the word that Bauchi State citizens want Governor Bala Muhammad to continue his exceptional leadership beyond his tenure. In 2027, they hope to see him contest for the presidency to rescue Nigeria. The people of Bauchi State, along with their elders, are firmly behind him and support his vision for a better Nigeria.
