Sanwo-Olu Reaffirms Commitment to Lekki International Airport and Infrastructural Development

Accompanied by top government officials, the governor spent over two hours touring Alaro City, a rapidly developing area situated along the Lekki-Epe Expressway, and Universal One Development. During the tour, he inspected four major companies operating within Alaro City—Ariel Foods, BUA, TY Danjuma Logistics Park, and Universal Homes—and commended the rapid infrastructural progress in the area. These developments, he said, were evidence of the successful collaboration between the Lagos State Government and the private sector, which has played a pivotal role in accelerating economic growth.
In addition to the airport project, Sanwo-Olu highlighted other ongoing initiatives, including the Green Line Rail Project, which will run from Marina to Lekki. He confirmed that funding arrangements for the project were nearing completion, signaling that the long-awaited rail system would soon become a reality. “These projects are more than just infrastructural upgrades; they represent the transformation of Lagos into a global business hub,” he emphasized.
Sanwo-Olu also spoke about the strategic importance of other major infrastructural developments in the region, including the Lekki Deep Sea Port and the six-lane Lekki-Epe Expressway, which he described as game-changers for the region’s economy. The governor called on investors to seize the opportunities presented by these developments, highlighting their potential to open new doors for business, trade, and job creation.
The Chairman of Alaro City, Ayo Gbeleyi, and Managing Director, Yomi Ademola, both expressed their appreciation for the visionary leadership of the Lagos State Government, which they credited for enabling rapid growth and infrastructure development in the region. They also noted that the government’s strategic investments were crucial in creating jobs and opportunities for Lagosians.
