There had been reports of incessant kidnappings in Ningi LGA with continued insecurity, particularly among peasant farmers who are now timid to go to their farms.

The newly posted state Commissioner of Police in Bauchi, Auwal Musa Muhammad said at his maiden press briefing, that security personnel have been mobilized to affected communities while the Police continue to remain on alert.

Musa did not disclose when the operation took place and the number of others arrested.

“I’m very much aware that an arrest has been made, and the Joint Task Force that is being supported by the state government killed two of the bandits and they were able to get about 2 informants while one was unfortunately killed as well.” Musa said

Speaking on the notorious Sara-Suka group which has also been terrorizing residents in Bauchi state, the Commissioner of Police said actions are in place to curb their nefarious activities.

Muhammad has earlier promised that “the Police shall continue to maintain and strengthen collaborative partnership with all other security agencies and community stakeholders to ensure community security.

He said the Police will also collaborate with the judiciary, as well as the ministry of justice to facilitate proper prosecution of all criminal cases.
