President Bola Tinubu has departed Nigeria for Paris, France, on a two-week working visit to assess his administration’s progress and refine strategic reforms.
According to a statement from his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the visit will allow the President to review key milestones, evaluate ongoing policies, and strategize for the remainder of his tenure as he approaches his second year in office.
Tinubu’s convoy departed Abuja at approximately 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, with sources stating that the trip will be a period of reflection, assessment, and planning aimed at deepening existing reforms and accelerating national development priorities.
The Presidency highlighted recent economic strides under Tinubu’s leadership, including a significant increase in Nigeria’s net foreign exchange reserves, which have grown to $23.11 billion from $3.99 billion in 2023. This, according to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), reflects the impact of fiscal and monetary reforms introduced since Tinubu took office.
Despite being outside the country, the President is expected to remain actively engaged with his cabinet and continue overseeing governance remotely. His administration reassured Nigerians that government activities would run smoothly in his absence.
Tinubu is scheduled to return in two weeks, after which he is expected to provide further updates on his government’s next steps.
