Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni CON, has announced a review of the 24-hour curfew previously imposed on Potiskum, Gashua, and Nguru Local Government Areas. This decision follows a significant improvement in the security situation in these regions.

In a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security, Brigadier General Dahiru Abdulsalam (rtd), it was disclosed that the curfew will now be relaxed from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. daily. This adjustment allows residents to engage in their lawful activities during these hours.

“The security agencies are enjoined to maintain the current level of security alertness and ensure that no space is given to hoodlums and miscreants to perpetuate any act of lawlessness during the curfew relaxation period,” the statement read.

Law-abiding citizens are encouraged to carry out their activities within the permitted hours, while the period from 5:00 p.m. to 12:00 noon remains restricted. The government urges the public to cooperate with security agencies to ensure continued peace and safety in the affected areas.
