Bauchi Gov. Tasks corps members to make much-needed contributions on lives of host communities

The Governor of Bauchi state, Bala Mohammed, on Tuesday urged corps members deployed to the state to embark on execution of people’s oriented Community Development Projects in order to make a positive impact on the lives of their host communities.

The governor disclosed this while speaking at the closing ceremony of the 2023 Batch ‘B’ Stream I of the NYSC orientation programme held at Wailo orientation camp,

Represented by his Deputy, Mohammed Auwal Jatau, Gov. Bala urged them to focus on executing people-oriented Community Development Projects to positively impact their host communities, while expressing optimism that their service year would bring hope and positive change to the overall development of the communities.

He said, “The state government has taken measures to ensure the safety and security of the corps members throughout their service year in different communities. I encouraged the corps members to address social and economic issues, promote education, and actively participate in solving environmental challenges as agents of positive change.”

He also congratulated them on completing their orientation course and advised them to be good ambassadors of the NYSC scheme, embracing discipline, perseverance, and integrity.

In another development, the NYSC coordinator in the state, Mrs Rifkatu Daniel Yakubu, appealed to employers to support and assist the corps members in developing their potentials, while thanking the Governor Bala for his administration’s support for the scheme in the state.

Kanempress learned that the corps members were reminded to perform their duties diligently, guided by the NYSC Act and Bye-Laws, and to integrate into their host communities while respecting their cultures.
