BOSU Marks Milestone: Fifth Set of Students Matriculated Amid Grand Ceremony

Borno State University (BOSU) has celebrated a significant milestone as it matriculated its fifth set of students, welcoming a total of 2,400 new entrants.
Among them, 174 students entered directly, comprising 106 males and 68 females, while 2,226 gained admission through the UTME process, with 1,313 males and 913 females.
The students are distributed across various faculties, with 88 in Agriculture, 774 in Science, 631 in Arts and Education, 527 in Management Sciences, and 380 in the College of Health Sciences.
The matriculation ceremony, held at the university campus, was presided over by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Umar Kyari Sandabe, alongside the Registrar, Zanna Mustapha Kashim, and other principal officers.
In his address, Professor Sandabe urged the matriculants to embrace a culture of learning, discipline, and excellence.
Highlighting the university’s achievements, Professor Sandabe announced that several new programs had received approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC) during the 2022/2023 session.
These programs include Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), Doctor of Physiotherapy, Bachelor of Nursing, Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS), Bachelor of Radiography, Bachelor of Health Information Management System (HIMS), as well as Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, History, and Arabic.
Additionally, the Institute of Education has been approved by the Senate, with documents underway for submission to the NUC for further processing.
Furthermore, Professor Sandabe revealed that the university had successfully graduated its fifth set of pioneer students, totaling 510 individuals, who are now receiving their statement of results.
The ceremony reached its climax with the administration of the matriculation oath by the University Registrar, Malam Zanna Mustapha Kashim, marking the official induction of the new students into the BOSU community.
The registrar Zanna Mustapha Kashim, while addressing the students also emphasized the importance of upholding the university’s values and regulations.
