Fighting corruption not easy – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has admitted that fighting corruption has not been easy.

Making the admission in Damaturu, the Yobe State capital, at a dinner organized in his honor by the State Governor, President Buhari advised Nigerians to be honest and God-fearing in all their dealings.

He said while his administration was exploring all available lawful means to consolidate the stabilization of peace across the country, it was incumbent upon citizens to support the efforts of the government in that regard.

The President, who stressed that he had not got a single piece of land or structure overseas, urged Nigerians to shun corrupt practices if the much-desired better living must be achieved.

President Buhari said to attain peace in Nigeria, he established cordial relations with Nigeria’s neighbors, whom he explained that apart from Chad, the stability of Niger and Cameroun had assisted Nigeria’s restoration of peace immensely.

He called on Nigerians to appreciate the efforts, sacrifices, and resources expended to attain the achievement in peace, security, economy, and infrastructure, and work towards improving on them.

The State Governor, Alhaji Mai Mala Buni, thanked the President for his support and appealed to him to approve the Federal Government takeover of the 700, fully-equipped specialist hospitals and the cargo airport he inaugurated.

Similarly, Senate President Ahmad Lawal had appealed to the President to establish Gum Arabic Research Institute in the state to serve all the other states having the plant, stressing that such would rake in trillions of Naira to further boost the economy through diversification.
