The Presidential Food Systems Coordinating Unit (PFSCU) in Nigeria has initiated series of stakeholder engagements across the six geopolitical zones, aimed at tackling food security challenges.
To this effect, a two-day workshop held in Abuja brought together representatives from Niger and Nasarawa States, as well as the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja to collaborate and coordinate systems across all tiers of government.
Addressing participants, the technical Assistant to the President Bola Tinubu on Agriculture and Secretary to the PFSCU Board, Marion Moon, said the federal government is focusing on fostering collaboration on the ongoing food crisis in alignment with the President’s mission to unlock Nigeria’s immense economic potential.
The workshops aim to provide sub-national representatives with an overview of the PFSCU’s mandate and gather feedback on current agricultural development mechanisms.
She explained that there was need to tackle the root causes of the problem to develop sustainable food systems envisioned in President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
