Zamfara state Government appoints new Accountant General

Zamfara State has approved the appointment of Ali-Akilu Mohammed Bungudu as the Accountant General of the State, while Alhaji Idris Shehu was named the Deputy Accountant General.

According to state Governor Dauda Lawal, the appointments were contained in an official announcement on Tuesday.

Ali-Akilu is a seasoned banker with many years of experience.

“The appointment of Ali-Akilu is in line with Governor Dauda Lawal’s commitment to source for the best hands in the rescue mission,” the Governor stated.

“Bungudu is an accomplished banker with over 20 years of working experience in operations, marketing (Public Sector, Govt Revenue Collection, Retail Banking, and international banking.

“Until his appointment, Ali-Akilu was leading the Nigerian Representative office of FBN Bank UK LTD and covering the Northern business office with oversight for Private Banking, Corporate Banking, and Institutional Banking,” he said.
