The health sector fact-sheet in Bauchi State will be reviewed and validated by the state government and the United States Agency for International Development-Integrated Health Programme (USAID-IHP). The aim is to improve the knowledge sharing on how the sector is performing.
The permanent secretary of the State Ministry of Health, Alhaji Ali Babayo, said this at a review workshop in Azare, Bauchi. He said the fact-sheet for the state has been pending for a long time and thanked USAID-IHP for their financial and technical support in the area of health interventions.
He said the new strategy will provide more accurate and reliable information on the health sector in a concise way, and address the lack of sufficient and quality health information.
Babayo said USAID-IHP had helped to ensure that health workers in the state are trained and retrained at their work places using the low dose high frequency method.
He emphasized that this is a situation where no health worker would miss attending to clients at any of the facilities across the state for effective and efficient healthcare service delivery.
The Bauchi State director of USAID-IHP, Dr Alhassan Siaka, said the fact-sheet would enable stakeholders in the health sector to review the progress in implementing health policies.
In his remarks, the executive chairman, Bauchi State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (BSPHCDA), Dr Rilwanu Mohammed, appreciated the stakeholders for taking time to critically study the 2022 fact-sheet and come out with reviewed and validated document that would aide effective information management and sharing about the performance and operations of the Bauchi State health sector.
