The Borno State Government, through its State Primary Health Care Development Agency (SPHCDA), is pleased to announce the Fourth Outbreak Response (OBR4) Polio Vaccination Exercise scheduled to take place from October 26 to October 29, 2024. This initiative will cover all 27 Local Government Areas (LGAs) within the state.

This announcement follows the certification of Borno State as polio-free on August 25, 2020, a significant achievement in the ongoing polio eradication campaign. However, the risk of polio infection persists as long as the wild poliovirus remains present in other regions of the world.

To safeguard its polio-free status, the Borno State Government is committed to conducting high-quality Immunization Plus Days (IPDs). These efforts aim to halt the transmission of poliovirus and enhance immunization services across the state.

Residents of Borno State are urged to cooperate with the polio vaccination teams who will be visiting homes, streets, schools, mosques, churches, internally displaced persons (IDP) camps, motor parks, border communities, and other key locations during this period. The focus will be on immunizing all eligible children under the age of five.

Together, we are building a stronger and healthier Borno.
