In a significant move to bolster Nigeria’s presence on the global stage, Vice President Sen. Kashim Shettima is set to depart Abuja for the 2024 US-Africa Business Summit.

This was made known to Kanempress correspondent through Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President on Media & Communications.

The summit is a pivotal event hosted by the Corporate Council on Africa,and will take place at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, Texas.

Vice President Shettima will be representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, joining a cadre of esteemed political and business leaders from Africa, the United States, and other nations. The summit’s agenda includes high-level dialogues, networking opportunities, and a series of business sessions designed to foster collaboration and growth.

The roster of African dignitaries expected to attend features prominent figures such as H.E. Joseph Boakai of Liberia, H.E. Lazarus Chakwera of Malawi, H.E. Joao Lourenço of Angola, H.E. Mokgweetsi E. K. Masisi of Botswana, H.E. José Maria Neves of Cabo Verde, and Hon. Nthomeng Majara of Lesotho.

During the summit, Vice President Shettima will contribute to several key discussions. He is slated to address the Roundtable on African Infrastructure Investment, focusing on the impact and potential returns of strategic investments.

Additionally, he will participate in a high-level panel dedicated to transforming agribusiness, with an emphasis on transitioning from food insecurity to thriving agricultural enterprises.

A highlight of Vice President Shettima’s participation will be his speech at a plenary session titled “Navigating Africa’s Energy Future,” where he will explore the continent’s energy prospects. He will also chair a session aimed at promoting the ‘Invest in Nigeria’ initiative, showcasing the country’s investment opportunities to a global audience.

Aside from the main events, the Vice President’s itinerary includes various meetings and engagements that will take place alongside the summit, furthering Nigeria’s interests and fostering international partnerships.

Upon the conclusion of his engagements in the United States, Vice President Shettima is expected to return to Nigeria, carrying with him the insights and connections made at this influential gathering.
