In a significant move towards economic empowerment and poverty alleviation, the Yobe State Government, under the leadership of His Excellency Governor Mai Mala Buni, has announced a cash grant of ₦100,000 each to 10,000 small business owners and startups. This initiative, spearheaded by the Yobe State Small and Medium Scale Industries Credit Board, primarily targets youth and women across the 17 Local Government Areas of the state.

The Executive Secretary of the Yobe State Small and Medium Scale Industries Development Board, Mohammed Alkali, emphasized the governor’s unwavering commitment to fostering entrepreneurship, reducing unemployment, and boosting the state’s economy. “This bold intervention reflects Governor Buni’s strategic vision of bolstering entrepreneurship and creating inclusive opportunities for sustainable development,” Alkali stated.

Alkali highlighted the prioritization of youth and women as key drivers of grassroots economic transformation. He assured that the board is working tirelessly to ensure the successful implementation of the governor’s policies, aiming to achieve the intended impact of this initiative.

“This intervention is a testament to Governor Buni’s leadership in promoting economic self-reliance and building a resilient state economy, positioning Yobe as a model for sustainable development in Nigeria,” Alkali added.
