Zulum extends generous aid: Allocates N80m for Guwori Islamic Academy

Borno State Governor Banagana Umara Zulum has pledged his support to the Guwori Islamic Academy by granting an N80 million naira fund to the charity institution. The academy which primarily educates children from low-income families received this grant during its recent graduation ceremony held in Jere Local Government Area.
Governor Zulum stated that the N80 million would be distributed in increments of N20 million per year.
The funds will be allocated towards the improvement of educational facilities the enhancement of teachers’ welfare and the overall advancement of the students’ learning experience.
Expressing his admiration for the academy’s achievements Zulum commended the students’ outstanding performances. He emphasized the government’s commitment to support children in receiving quality education both in Islamic and western subjects.
Zulum’s gesture aims to empower the Guwori Islamic Academy enabling it to continue providing education opportunities to disadvantaged children. The governor’s support will contribute to the academy’s mission of nurturing future generations and breaking the cycle of poverty through education.
He added, “Each year we will release N20m to complement the payment of the teachers’ salaries and other expenses. The first N20m cheque will be issued to the school management tomorrow (Monday) in sha Allah.”
Zulum also approved a total of N4.1m for 23 graduating students with each of the 12 pupils who have memorised the complete Holy Qur’an receiving N250,000 each and 11 pupils who have completed their primary education but could not memorise the complete Holy Qur’an to receive N100,000 each.
The governor who was accompanied by GMD/CEO NNPC limited Kolo Mele Kyari seized the opportunity to assure citizens of his administration’s commitment to providing meaningful development in the state and in combating all forms of criminalities for the people to go about their activities peacefully.
